The company, which offers standard payday loans in nine states at www.loanshack.com, was founded by Chuck Brennan. Brennan also founded The Dollar Loan Center, a payday lending company that operates in three states, and Clark County Collection Service.
The Loan Shack will operate out of Dollar Loan Center’s main office on West 10th Street, though it is a separate business.
Within the next three years, Brennan hopes to be operating in up to 30 states – a feat he said he wouldn’t be able to accomplish so quickly with a brick-and-mortar business.
Brennan said he wanted to get into the online payday lending industry because it’s the way of the future. His goal is to be the leading provider of short-term loans over the Internet in the United States.
