My husband is in the Navy. Are there payday lenders willing to help military?

My husband and I just moved to a new duty station in Oak Harbor, Wa. I drove our 1st car here from san diego but it is expensive to drive. our 2nd car is a smart car and gets much better gas mileage. I just got a job at a casino and at the Navy exchange and I need to fly back to San Diego this weekend and get the car and get back to Washington by Tuesday morning. We need $400-$450 for the airline ticket and gas back to NAS Whidbey. We have talked to Pioneer Military Lending and Omni Financial and neither of them are in the Island and neither of them will be able to get the cash to us within 24 hours. Does anyone know of a walk in payday loan or cash advance able to lend cash instantly to military personnel? Its hard to find since the law was passed and most places do not lend to military.
Navy Releif said no. We had one with them 6 months ago and they say no more than one in a year

lol do not go to a payday place. If his cheif finds out they will rip him a new a**hole. It is almost immpossible to pay them back, cause they jack up the interest rates, then sue you and garnish your wages, cause you have garunteed pay.

Since you just moved, can’t you get a loan from the Naval Aid Society?

They are not allowed to make loans to military personnel at all because their rates are higher than the maximum premitted for military loans.

Your Navy and Marine Crops Relief Office has a “Quick Assist Loan” designed just for this situation and to keep you away from the pay day lender sharks. And they *are* sharks. That’s why it is illegal for most of them to lend to the military. All you need is your most recent Leave and Earnings Statement and your active-duty ID card. Relief Society staff members don’t have to check with your command. It’s confidential.

Yes they will “help” you and charge you a very high interest rate. It would be better to get a credit card and use that.

Also a lot of payday lenders have been blacklisted by the military and if you get a loan from them you will be doing it against the recommendation of the service.

yes but they steal ya money best 2 borrow money from the military of family. the finance charge is 18% or higher. the payday loans feed off of military i.e. its like having a credit with a 2 million dollar credit limit and they say u dont have to pay for the 1st 2 yrs on ya bill. they want you in debt so they gain mo money off you $100 will turn out being paid in full by you i.e. hypothetically $275 or more

Unfortunately because of the laws passed to protect service members these places will not lend you money because of the interest rates they charge. Have you tried talking to your bank about a line of credit to use for this situation? I would try asking someone on base like maybe fleet and family support on how to get help for your situation. Someone has had to have been in this situation before.

stay the hell away from payday lenders. he IS NOT ALLOWED TO USE THEM. as in a standing order. they are strictly and completely OFF LIMITS.

that was what DLA and MALT and Per diem is for.

Frankly seems to me like you have more serious issues at hand.. you have had a NMCRS loan within the last six months and now you need one again>

Be very careful or his military career will be in jeopardy.
