My auto loan was conceived with sudden urgency upon finding out that my (fully owned) 1994 Cherokee was completely rotted underneath when my radiator blew. I knew my credit wasn’t great and had been working on paying back my old debts for a while so that we could hopefully buy a house (my husband, myself and 3 kids). The dealership gave me a 17% interest rate and overcharged me by $5000 (which I found out too late). They also told me that my Mother would automatically come off my loan in 6 months, which she didn’t. I have made all of my payments on time (total of 7 so far). Upon looking at my credit report recently I found a credit card that didn’t belong to me – disputing it as we speak – and some very old debts that I had forgotten about – made contact with them to set up repayment over the next month and a half. I need to refinance my auto loan to a better interest rate, but was denied by Lending Tree. I don’t understand why when I have made all of my payments on time.

You will need to take care of some minor details like disputing some of the negatives. If you have been paying your bills on time, then the only reason why they wouldn’t do it, would be because of recent negatives or previous other negatives on your credit report. You need to check the whole story out, and see the whole picture so that you know what’s really going on.
17% is too high….I think refinancing your loan would be the best option for you as in that you can get a interest rate ranging from 8 to 10 % APR. Here is the source http://autofinancing123.com you can try if you want.
